About the studio

A studio named after a dream.

Torchhound is Dominic's studio. One person makes the games, and they're all free to play in a browser, on a computer or a phone, with no download and no sign-up to start.

The name comes from an old story about Saint Dominic: before he was born, his mother dreamed of a dog carrying a lit torch in its mouth, setting the whole world alight.

The hound is the studio's mascot: a spotted dog that carries the light out of the workshop, one game at a time.

The Torchhound mascot: a black-and-white spotted hound trotting along with a lit torch in its mouth.

Nightcount

Cozy by day. Hunted by night.

Survival builder · Solo · Free · Desktop, or a phone held sideways

Nightcount is a 3D survival builder that plays in the browser. You found a village in a wild valley, build it up while the sun is out, and hold it together when the monsters come out of the trees at night. A full day takes about four minutes, so every night is a deadline. To end the nights for good, you have to reach the Heart of the Blight and kill it.

Co-op for up to five players is in testing with friends. It isn't available to play yet.

Key features

  • Build by day: farms, woodcutters and quarries, then walls, watchtowers, torches and a barracks of guards.
  • Hold at night: waves out of the treeline, a blood moon every fifth night, and dragons that set wooden buildings alight.
  • Four heroes, the Knight, Ranger, Mystic and Warden, unlocked by surviving nights.
  • Today's world: the same valley for everyone on the same date, to compare with friends.
  • Plays on a computer or a phone held sideways. Runs save in the browser.

TideBound Early access

Follow your lure underwater.

Fishing · Solo · Free · Desktop, or a phone held sideways · Plays offline

TideBound is a fishing game that runs in the browser. After you cast, the camera follows your lure under the surface, and you watch the fish decide whether to bite. Then comes the fight: a hooked fish runs, dives, jumps and sulks, and you answer each move with one eye on the line's tension.

It's in early access: all ten places to fish are playable, and we're still polishing how the game looks.

Key features

  • Watch each fish come to your lure, then fight it through storms.
  • Ten places to fish, three of them by boat, with 63 species and a boss in every region.
  • A weekly tournament at The Shelf: the same rig for everyone, fastest time wins, and the board resets every Monday.
  • Weather and time of day follow your real clock. Storms make fish keener, and some only feed at certain hours.
  • Plays offline once it's downloaded. It sells only cosmetics: every fish, rod and lure is earned by playing.

Why'd You Say That?

Everyone gets a secret agenda.

Party game · 3 to 11 players · Free · Phone or computer · Ages 13 and up (16 and up in the UK and EEA)

Why'd You Say That? is a party game for 3 to 11 players. Everyone argues about the same silly topic, like "Is a hot dog a sandwich?", but each player also has a secret agenda: something they have to make happen in the conversation without anyone noticing. Then everyone works out whose agenda was whose, and votes on whether each one really happened.

Key features

  • Points come from pulling your agenda off. Staying hidden on its own scores nothing.
  • Played out loud over Room Voice, the game's own voice chat, so nobody needs a separate call. Voice isn't recorded.
  • No sign-up: create a room and send your friends the link.
  • Each player on their own phone or computer.
  • A first game is two rounds with a guided introduction, about 20 minutes.

Art

No trailer yet. These are the game's own art and share cards.

Lantern Hill Coming soon

A short walk in the dark, once a day.

A calm daily puzzle. The hound follows the scent across a dark hill to three lost things, then lights a lantern. About five minutes, with no timer and no streaks. Miss a night and it waits for you.

Lantern Hill: a dark green hill under a crescent moon, its winding path lit by lanterns, with the spotted hound and its torch at the foot.
